Why we started Dorcas Care
Our experience of working within the care sector inspired us to establish Dorcas Care.
Throughout our careers, we have seen the enormous difference that good care can make to someone’s life. We also felt that we had much more to give and wanted the opportunity to help shape a service where compassion, respect and kindness are at the heart of everything we do.
Starting Dorcas Care gave us the opportunity to create the kind of care culture we believe in – one where people who need care and support are treated as individuals, listened to, respected and supported to live their lives with as much independence, dignity and choice as possible.
That philosophy also influences the people we choose to join our team. While skills and experience are important, we believe that some of the most important qualities in a care worker are personal ones. We look for people who are naturally kind, compassionate, respectful and genuinely care about the wellbeing of others.
For us, Dorcas Care is not simply about providing a service. It is about building a team and a culture that we would feel confident and comfortable entrusting with the care of someone we love.
Our Ethos
Compassion · Kindness · Respect
